Separately from the claim investigation a client can make a complaint to the professional's regulatory body ( in the case of solicitors this is the Law Society of Scotland in Edinburgh) and they would have the power to investigate the complaint and in certain situations make limited financial awards. We would discuss whether it is in a clients best interest to proceed with a complaint, claim or both, right at the outset.
